Elise Letourneau is a dedicated, experienced, professional music instructor.
Elise's teaching journey began in high school, when she learned that bicycle-riding itinerant after-school piano-teaching babysitting gigs earned her more than regular ones.
In the following years, this led Elise to studio teaching when she took a summer off, and working as a peer tutor in the Learning Assistance Department at Berklee College of Music to help pay her tuition costs.
These days, Elise can be found adjudicating for festivals, giving workshops, and presenting at conferences and symposiums. She directs the Carleton University Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and teaches at jazz and vocal camps. She established the Ottawa Singer-Songwriter Camp.
Elise is available for lessons in voice, piano, flute, composition, and theory. She has helped students with auditions, festivals, and developing their skills and enjoyment. She is happy to work with students in classical and contemporary genres, preparing for exam levels, or working out an individually tailored plan based on the student's goals.
Lessons are by appointment only at Alcorn Music Studios. Please contact them directly to schedule. She also offers group singing classes. Details on the Alcom Music Studios web site
With over 3 decades of singing experience, Elise has performed in multiple styles as both a solo and harmony singer. She has worked as a staff vocalist for jingles; directed choirs, won several choral composition competitions; adjudicated Kiwanis singing festivals; worked as a clinician for choirs, vocal groups, and directors; and her music has been sung by choirs and vocal groups throughout North America and Europe.

"Thank-you for providing such an exciting, fun, and informative day for our choir! I heard so many enthusiastic and positive comments afterwards -- you were a big hit! Even on the challenging Benedictus, where more than half the group were sight-reading it, you really brought it along in that short time. I have to say that now I have "Take Five" on the brain all the time -- I think that's called an 'earworm'! It was also great to learn your 'To the One Who Listens' -- a lovely piece! And we never get tired of singing your amazing 'Peace Prayer.'"
